Hanoi Old Quarter~~

We arrived in Hanoi, safe and happy, as early as 09.00 morning on Saturday 22 April 2017 🙂

After changing some money to Dong (VND), we were drove to our lodging –Hanoi Brother Inn & Travel. This picked-up was included in the lodging fee we paid. The lodging’s guy informed us what to do, where to eat, point of interest of Hanoi, etc, upon our arrival. Since we came early, we’re not able to check-in until 2:00 PM. Thus we decided to leave our luggages there, and walked towards Hoan Kiem Lake.

It was Saturday, and the weather quite mild, around 22degC. A lot of people gathered around the lake. Playing music instrument, children run here and there, road-skating, clown, chit-chat or just sitting aorund the lake enjoying the surrounding.

In the middle of this lake, you will find Ngoc Son Temple, with entrance fee 30,000 VND for adult. We didnot come inside, just wandered arround 🙂

Seafood for Lunch?

Tired of walking we ended up in a restaurant titled VI SÀI GÒN, which displayed Certificate of Excellence from TripAdvisor. We decided to have our lunch there. Their seafood noodle was excellence, though. Hehehe.

the seafood noodle was great!! Very fresh and yummy!

For a plate of seafood fried rice, seafood noodle, crackers and 2 coconuts, all costed us 190,000 VND. Well, quite cheap compared to jakarta! Haha.

Night Market

In Hanoi Old Quarter, there is night market held every week-end (every Fri, Sat, Sun started aorund 7 PM). Since tomorrow we’d be off to Halong Bay, tonight was our only chance.

We left our lodging around 6.30 PM, went strightly to the night market, on foot! Never ever use vehicles if you wished heading to this direction.

heading to night market using vehicles was really a hell! So many people and the vehicles stucked in the middle! =))

Well, like any other night markets, the alleys full of people and the sellers were selling any kind of things you never think of! From souvenirs, jewelries to bed-lamp, any kind of street food (of course!), and various (fake/used?) branded items like from lighter (i.e. zippo), bags to jackets (i.e. north face).

the view of night market from the high building around. The photo taken while we’re enjoying dunkin donut’s bagel with milk tea -costed me 85,000VND for that =P

Well, That’s all for today. Went home, took some rest and got ready for HaLong Bay tomorrow! Yeay!!
